About

From our Chairman:

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Northamptonshire CPSA website, designed to inform and inspire our county shooters. Whether CPSA members or not, the website will show you results, pictures and information that will enhance your clay shooting experience and demonstrate what your elected committee aspires to achieve.

The Northants CPSA Committee is made up of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary who hold posts with portfolios of responsibilities to the members. To complete the county committee, one committee member authors and manages the website, one provides governance to the committee and the others hold portfolio posts that represent the diverse nature of clay shooters in our county. All of the committee claim no expenses and perform their roles without cost the county. It is estimated that a total of over 1000 hours of volunteering is invested by the committee each year, for the benefit of not only our own county shooters, but others who join our events.

The committee meets every month or so, depending on the requirements of the season. Each meeting is minuted and those minutes are available shortly afterwards, for anyone to request from our Secretary. During the year, the county holds championships in each discipline (that has a following within the county) and where appropriate, hosts joint county events to allow competition and participants to compete in each discipline.

The county also is fortunate to have an instructional team who hold Saturday morning training for Ladies and Juniors during the summer months, focussing to improve an area of the shooting community that comprises our future county representatives. The rewards for the county are significant and it is a joy to be able to observe shooters develop and improve.

I hope you will think of the work that others have invested in your sport and if you feel you would like to volunteer your time to develop the sport in Northamptonshire, please make contact and join the team!

Go break some clays!
